/ About the project
A sixty-second animated short exploring Malaysian culture through food, craft, and heritage - nasi lemak at breakfast, the hawker stalls of George Town, batik pressed by hand, and the festival tables where Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous traditions meet. Rendered in a tactile mixed-media collage style built from torn-paper textures and hand-inked accents, with original narration and sound design. Written, designed, animated, and finished by Dear Summer, the piece shows how animation can carry cultural storytelling for audiences that live action can't always reach - tourism, cultural exchange, and public diplomacy work among them.
