IACP Leadership Certificate Program

"Video Curriculum"

/ About the project

The International Association of Chiefs of Police is the world’s largest and most influential professional association for police leaders, with more than 35,000 members in over 180 countries and a mission to advance the policing profession through advocacy, research, outreach, and education. For its Chiefs Leadership Certificate Program — a self-paced curriculum for current and aspiring police leaders navigating one of the most complex periods in modern policing — IACP needed video content that could match the scale and seriousness of that mission. Silva Brand was brought in by partners Tecker International and Ember Forge Consulting to create the video content for three program modules, and Dear Summer served as the Washington, D.C. production crew behind the shoot.

The series treats police leadership as something broader than command structure. It is leadership under pressure: operational, ethical, political, and human decisions made in real time. It is trust built before crisis arrives, through everyday habits of accountability, transparency, and follow-through. It is the personal weight of command — the responsibility carried for officers, communities, victims, families, and the legitimacy of the agency itself. And it is the thoughtful governance of new technology and AI, weighing what tools can do, what they cannot do, and how leaders explain those limits to the public.

Silva Brand led the project as producer, director, and post-production partner, shaping the series as human-centered leadership storytelling. Dear Summer handled production on the ground: cinematic, broadcast-quality interviews with chiefs and command staff, professional location lighting and audio, and supporting footage captured across the Washington, D.C. area. The final videos combine long-form lesson introductions, reflective interview-driven segments, and field-based storytelling — giving learners access to the lived wisdom of public safety leaders rather than abstract theory alone.

The result is executive leadership made visible, personal, and teachable: a video curriculum that helps IACP serve today’s law enforcement leaders while developing the next generation. It is the same interview-led, documentary-style approach we bring to government and public sector video work nationwide.
